Proof of delivery
Proof of delivery is the record that an order reached a specific place at a specific time, usually a photo of the package where it was left, sometimes a signature, always a timestamp.

It ends “I never got it” conversations quickly and shows the customer where to look. For unattended deliveries a photo of the box and the door is the standard; signatures are reserved for age-restricted or high-value goods and wholesale drops.
In Porch Route drivers take a photo or collect a signature in drive mode, and the business decides whether either is required before a stop can be finished. Proof is stored privately, shown on the customer's tracking page and sent to the order system with the outcome through links that expire.
