1.Programme name and who sends the messages
The programme is “[Business name] delivery alerts, sent via Porch Route”. The sender is the business that took your order and is delivering it. Porch Route (Vector UX LLC) is the software that business uses to send the messages; we send nothing on our own account.
Each business completes its own carrier registration before its texts go out. Until that is approved, its customers receive email updates and tracking links instead.
2.What the messages are
Delivery alerts tell you where your order is. A business can turn each type on or off:
| Message | When it’s sent |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | When your delivery is put on a route, with the day and delivery window |
| On the way | When the driver starts the route |
| Almost there | Shortly before the driver reaches you |
| Delivered | Once the delivery is done and a short undo window has passed, with a link to the photo |
| Couldn’t deliver | When a delivery couldn’t be completed, with the reason and how to reach the business |
Every message carries a link to your tracking page, where you can see the truck on a map while it’s on the way, the proof photo once it’s delivered, and rate the delivery. Messages are informational only. They never carry marketing, and consent to receive them is never a condition of buying anything.
3.How many messages to expect
Message frequency varies by delivery. A typical delivery sends 3 to 5 messages, and never more than 6. You receive messages only for deliveries you have ordered.
4.Rates
Message and data rates may apply. The messages are free from the business; your mobile plan’s standard messaging charges are yours.
5.How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to cancel. You’ll get one confirmation text and then no more delivery texts from that business. Your deliveries themselves continue; you can still use the tracking link in any earlier message or the email updates the business sends.
Reply HELP for help. You’ll receive the business’s support contact. You can also revoke consent by any reasonable means — telling the business by phone or email works too — and it takes effect promptly.
To start receiving texts again, reply START to the same number or ask the business to add you back.
6.How consent is collected
The business collects your phone number and your agreement to delivery texts when you order — at its checkout, on its order form, or in conversation with you — and records where and when. Porch Route stores that record with the order so the business can show it.
Sample messages
- “[Business]: your order is set for local delivery Thu, Sep 17 between 8 AM and noon. Track it here: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- “[Business]: [Driver] is on the way with your order. You’re 5 stops away. Follow the truck: [link]”
- “[Business]: [Driver] is about 30 minutes away. Please keep the porch clear. [link]”
- “[Business]: delivered at 9:14 AM. Photo and details: [link]”
- “[Business]: we couldn’t complete your delivery today (nobody home). Reply HELP or call [business phone].”
7.Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of a text depends on the carriers and can be delayed or filtered for reasons outside the business’s or Porch Route’s control. Major US carriers are supported; the business can tell you which.
8.Privacy
Your phone number and your messaging consent are never shared, sold or provided to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. How your information is handled is described in our privacy policy. Questions about a specific business’s messages go to that business; questions about Porch Route go through our contact page or [support email].
