What Porch Route is

Porch Route is one product that covers a delivery day from the first order to the porch. It is built for businesses that deliver their own orders with their own drivers — farms and CSAs, butchers, bakeries and meal-prep kitchens, florists, specialty grocers, and the marketplaces and platforms that take orders for them — rather than for courier companies or national carriers.

Three things set it apart. Temperature is a hard rule in the route optimizer, not a note on an order: a frozen box never lands on the dry van. The delivered notice waits a few minutes, so a driver's mis-tap can be undone before the customer hears anything. And every outcome goes back to the system that took the order over a signed webhook, so nobody updates statuses by hand.

What it does

• Takes orders by API (keyed by your own order reference), CSV import or manual entry, and finds addresses on OpenStreetMap at no cost.
• Plans routes across the whole fleet at once: time windows, weight capacity, stop limits, shifts, locked stops and temperature capability per vehicle, with savings shown against driving the orders in the order they came in.
• Dispatches each route to its driver as a no-login link that opens drive mode on any phone: one stop at a time, navigation hand-off, photo and signature proof, reasons for a failed stop, an offline retry queue.
• Keeps customers updated by text and email under the business's name, with a live tracking page per delivery and a 1-to-5 star rating.
• Writes every outcome back to the order system over signed, retried, reconciled webhooks, with a delivery log and a message log of every text and email.
• Gives the team roles — owner, admin, dispatcher, driver — and keeps every business's data apart on the server.

Who makes it

Porch Route is made and operated by Vector UX LLC, a company organised in Utah, United States. Vector UX is a small design-led software company; Porch Route is its delivery routing product. The name is two words, “Porch Route”, and its plans are called Porch Light, Porch, Route and Fleet.

The product is designed first and built to that design: a quiet interface, one action per screen, reasons instead of codes, and every time labelled as actual, planned or estimated so nobody mistakes a guess for a fact. Customer-facing pages and messages carry the business's name, never Porch Route's.

Where it comes from

Porch Route was built for From The Farm’s local delivery program, where farms deliver refrigerated and frozen orders straight to their customers.

That’s why temperature is a hard rule, why a delivered notice can be taken back, and why every outcome goes back to the store that took the order. Now it’s its own product, for any business that delivers its own orders.
