Its pricing is simple and generous at the bottom — free up to 100 orders a month with every feature, unlimited drivers and dispatchers — and $150 a month flat from 101 to 1,000 orders, then a graduated per-order rate.

Three things pinch for a small food business. The jump from $0 to $150 lands exactly where a growing CSA lives. Drivers must install the Routific app and accept an invitation tied to their email — there is no link a seasonal driver can just tap. And there are no delivery zones or territories: the workaround is tags, and “deliver to the north county on Tuesdays” has to be enforced by a person. Texts are an add-on at $0.01 a segment, and Routific's own pricing page steers customers toward email.

How to compare alternatives

• Price unit. Per order or stop suits part-time drivers; per driver suits full-time ones. Check what counts as a unit.
• Temperature. Is frozen versus refrigerated a rule the optimiser enforces, or a tag?
• Drivers. App with account, or a link they can tap?
• Zones and delivery days. Can the software hold “this area, these days”?
• Customer messages. Under whose name, at what price, with what tracking page?
• Integration. An API keyed by your order number, and webhooks that are signed and retried.

1. Porch Route

Porch Route is built for businesses that deliver their own orders with their own drivers, and for food in particular: frozen, refrigerated and dry are hard rules in the optimiser, not tags; zones carry delivery days and windows; drivers run the route from a texted link with no app or account, and the delivered notice waits a few minutes so a mis-tap can be undone before the customer is told. Every outcome goes back to your store over a signed webhook keyed by your own order number. Every feature is on every plan.

Price: Porch Light is free up to 150 orders a month on one vehicle; Starter is $39 a month for up to 500 orders; Porch is $79 for up to 1,000 with unlimited vehicles and drivers and 1,500 texts included once carrier registration is approved; Route is $189 for up to 5,000; Fleet is by quote. Best for: farms, butchers, bakeries, florists and grocers between 100 and 5,000 orders a month, and platforms that want the API. Fair note: it is a new product in early access, and direct Shopify and WooCommerce connectors are coming.

2. Spoke Dispatch (formerly Circuit for Teams)

Spoke Dispatch — renamed from Circuit for Teams — prices by stops: Starter is $125 a month including 1,000 stops with $0.04 for each extra, Premium $200 with 2,000, Expert $1,000 with 12,000. Unlimited drivers, a well-liked driver app and a branded tracking page on Premium and above. A stop counts when it's attempted, marked delivered or failed, accessed through the API, exported or printed, so read that definition closely. Texts are per segment at Twilio rates. Best for: a business that has outgrown Routific's flat tier and wants a lower per-stop rate; it rates 4.8 on Capterra across 105 reviews.

3. OptimoRoute

OptimoRoute prices per driver: Lite at $35.10 a driver a month billed annually (about $39 monthly), Pro at $44.10 annually or $49 monthly, with a 30-day no-card trial. It is strong on planning features and has a driver app users praise for showing routes without signal; texts are $0.01 a message in the US and Canada. The per-driver seat is the catch for a farm with four weekend drivers. Best for: a fleet of the same full-time drivers every day, each doing many stops.

4. Shipday

Shipday has a free starter plan and a Professional tier at $39 a month for 300 orders ($0.10 each after), rising through branded tiers to Business AI at $349 for 1,000 orders; a 14-day trial then downgrades to free. It is aimed at restaurants and small delivery companies, with texts listed as a feature from Professional up, and it is the cheapest paid entry point in the category for a few hundred orders. Best for: a very small operation that wants a low flat fee and doesn't need cold-chain rules.

5. Upper

Upper prices per user — Starter $50 a month or $40 yearly, Professional $60 or $48 — with stop-per-route caps by tier and a set of paid add-ons: texts from $0.01 each, live customer tracking at $20 a driver, capacity optimisation at $25 a driver. The API and webhooks are on the Enterprise tier. It has an unusually large library of industry pages and free tools. Best for: an office user planning for a few drivers who doesn't need integration.

6. Track-POD

Track-POD started life as a proof-of-delivery product, and it shows: strong ePOD, a driver app, and per-driver plans from $49 a driver billed annually ($59 monthly) with a three-driver minimum, or per-order plans from $285 a month for 1,500 orders. Texts are charged additionally. Best for: wholesale and B2B deliveries where signatures, invoices and paperwork matter more than a consumer tracking page.

7. Detrack

Detrack is $29 a driver a month for Pro (proof of delivery, tracking, branded notifications, API) and $39 for Advanced, which adds route optimisation and recurring jobs, with unlimited web users and a 14-day trial. It charges no text fees because you connect your own provider, such as Twilio. Best for: a business that mostly needs proof of delivery and tracking, has a fixed driver roster, and is happy to run its own texting account.

8. Onfleet

Onfleet is the fleet product on this list: Launch from $619 a month for 2,500 completed tasks, Scale from $1,349 for 5,000, Enterprise from $3,099, with a 14-day trial. It has deep dispatching, analytics and integrations, and prices accordingly. Best for: a delivery operation with several full-time dispatchers and a budget in the thousands; not for a farm.
